The Resident Care Program at The Manor and The Dorchester allows residents of Charlotte's largest retirment community to maximize their independence while avoiding the hassels and financial commitments of an assisted living facility, by aging in the comfort of their apartments. At one third the cost of Charlotte assisted living facilities, the program serves as an affordable alternative to assisted living while preserving the independence and sociality of enrolled seniors. Under the guidance of Resident Care Director Ann Marie Obrikat, participants enjoy the housekeeping, dining services, monitoring, transportation and mobility assistance that make up the program's core services. Additionally, Ann Marie coordinates custom services offered in affiliation with partnered home care providers Homewatch CareGivers and Emerald Care. She serves as a guide and a valuable resource of information related to senior issues, to our senior community and to the Charlotte area. For short-term stays, the recuperative care program offers a comfortable enviornment that fosters rapid healing for recently discharged patients following a hospital treatment or surgery. Resident Care Director Ann Marie Obrikat monitors resident condition through regular interaction and official "How are things going?" visits. Additionally, emergency response systms allow for touch-of-a-button communication with property management staff, from any apartment location. | We take care of the dusting, mopping, scrubbing and vacuuming required to keep your apartment clean and comfortable. | Enrollees of the Resident Care Program enjoy one included meal per day, which is prepared in our Magnolia dining Room kitchen by our gourmet chef, who is always willing to accomodate the needs of special diets. Meal delivery is optional. | ||

We assess the layout of each Resident Care apartment and identify any potential mobility hazards. We also coordinate the acquisition of walkers, scooters and other mobility devices. | Unlimited use of all New Forum transportation is available to Resident Care Program participants. Outside transportation services can be arranged through our Resident Care Director. | |||
